MARIE ACKERS SCULPTOR
"Animalier" , Equestrian sports and Canine bronzes
Born in France, Marie's work is inspired and influenced by the work of the 19th century "French Animaliers" such as Mene and Barye but also by European and French contemporary sculptors.
Marie's work is not about scientific measurements but it is about capturing the spirit and the essence of the subject. Marie has recently decided to concentrate mainly around equestrian sports such as Racing, polo and Dressage but her collection also contains some wildlife and canine works. Marie also works on private commissions.

Marie studies movement and the lines associated with the dynamic of the movement to create some striking and modern bronze sculptures. Marie has also developed few works in terracotta in her recent collections.
Some of Marie's work can also be seen in Whittington Fine Art ( Henley on Thames), The Wykeham Gallery in Stokebridge and the “Galerie de Tourgeville” (Deauville- France) and has been exhibited at the Mall galleries in London with the Society of Women Artists (SWA) , the Society of Equestrian Artists ( SEA), at the "biennale de sculpture animaliere de Rambouillet" (France) and the "Salon National des artistes Animalier de Bry-sur-Marne" (France).
